Task requirementsICTA – Future Training Team (FTT) AEO
Train and educate aeronautical engineering (AE), electronic and mechanical engineering (EME), nuclear and marine engineering (MarE) and communications and information systems (CIS) personnel in order to meet the Defence requirement.
DEPARTMENT TASKS:
The Post Holder’s primary purpose is to ensure that RNAESS is delivering training with the right equipment, both hardware and software, at the right time whilst meeting the changing training landscape and anticipating future training requirements. They will act as the lead for current and upcoming projects and initiatives which implement technology as a means to enhance learning and learning activities. This involves close liaison with instructors, Section Heads, IT, and the Training Development (TD) team to ensure that all proposals meet the requirement. The postholder is also to identify areas which could benefit from the implementation of TEL and make recommendations based on these findings utilising their Air Engineering knowledge and previous squadron and front-line experience.
The secondary purpose of the post is to undertake Air Engineering Officer duties within the school such as, but not limited to:
- CPOAET QC Oral Board President/Member
- WOAET QC Final Board President/Member
- SEMC Air Engineering Qualifying Boards (AEQB) President/Member – Grads and UY/SUY
- Mentoring roles across all training areas.

Act as Project Manager and lead SME for training improvement and innovation, responsible for the modernisation of AE and SE training at HMS SULTAN in both hardware and software acting as the focal point within RNAESS and the SME on business case submissions and financial routes to market.

Ensure coherence in training delivery methods with other RN, RAF, and Army Ph2 and Ph3 AE/SE training units, promoting best practice where applicable.

Assist and lead where necessary with procurement and acquisition of hardware and/or software for future training projects.

Conduct Board President or Board Member responsibilities for the following courses:
- CPOAET QC
- WOAET QC
- SEMC Grads
- SEMC UY/SUY

To actively conduct research through training conferences, exhibitions, and utilising industry SMEs to provide the best training solution to RNAESS.

Provide training and mentoring to other members of RNAESS on business case production to improve the ability of others within the school and therefore improving the capacity of the FTT.

Conduct AE mentoring where necessary across all areas of training at RNAESS.

Act as Sponsor for RNAESS MTS 2.21, 2.22 and 2.23.

- Deputise for ICTA Hd as directed.
- Act as SULTAN Officer of the Day (OOD).
- Ceremonial Division duty as required (3 per year).
- Visit Liaison Officer as required.
- Act as RNAESS Board President/Board Member when required.
- Act as a Mentor for CPOAETQC, WOAETQC, SEMC(AE).
