Your main responsibilities

Field Supt Repair

PRIMARY FUNCTION / POSITION OVERVIEW:

Field Supt. is responsible of the repair of all assigned units so as to conform to customer and Company requirements as related to quality improvement, safety, cost improvement and customer satisfaction in support of Region objectives. Also responsible for employee selection, training and safety for all assigned projects. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The qualified candidate must be a high-energy self-starter with a strong work ethic. This individual will need to be motivated by a competitive industry and be results, detail and team-oriented. As a Schindler Field Superintendent, the candidate’s role will include providing technical solutions, ensuring workplace safety, supervising technicians and job site activity, and supporting service, maintenance and repair sales. The selected candidate must be an expert at fulfilling customer requirements and maximizing profitability; excellent communication, financial acumen, business development, and management skills will all be critical to success in this role. The Field Superintendent must also have the necessary skills and experience to handle customer concerns, adjust manpower levels according to business needs, and to teach employees the Company’s quality, productivity and safety methodology. 

Additional responsibilities include (but not limited to):

•    Build a team environment by leading field technicians 
•    Manage training and development of field technicians on established processes, tools and standards
•    Implement EEO/AA requirement consistent with Area and/or State and Federal requirements.
•    Support sales staff in estimating service orders, scheduling and executing orders, and investigating and resolving customer complaints. This specific position may include a sales role depending on the candidate.
•    Manage ongoing program of project audit so as to assure conformance of performance standards of quality, completeness and safety.
•    Develop and implement program of manpower selection, training and performance appraisal essential to productivity and quality improvement objectives.
•    Evaluate and initiate requests for tooling where such tooling would support productivity improvement.
•    Maintain and manage pro-active relationships with local IUEC business agent.
•    Advise Area management of competitor activity as related to pricing, performance and manpower
•    Foster excellent communication among team members while maintaining good working relationships with the local union
•    Ensure that service, maintenance and repair offerings meets Company quality and safety standards, as well as all contract requirements.
•    Continuously improve service delivery to ensure uniformly efficient and effective service
•    Implement customer and Company requirements for quality, performance and passenger safety
•    Develop a spirit of teamwork and dedication to quality among all employees
•    Participate in Company professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of Elevator Company products, services and procedures

Expected Salary Range Is $110.700 to $138,400 depending on experience

 

 

What you bring

Requirements: 

•    BS/AS degree in Engineering or Business with prior technical sales experience; or, Journeyman Technician experience with minimum 5 years in field
•    Minimum 3 years’ experience in either the elevator industry or in a related building systems industry
•    Working knowledge of elevators and escalators to manage and direct field personnel to meet Area goals. Must have ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing and have proven leadership skills.
•    Ability to effectively manage and resolve sensitive employee relations issues
•    Solid problem solving and proven negotiating skills, high sense of urgency, strong communication and interpersonal skills
•    Excellent PC skills
