Data Platform Development Engineer

What you'll do:

• Design and develop scalable, high-quality data-oriented applications, data pipelines, and APIs for clients in a variety of industries. 
• Design and develop database structures in SQL and No SQL technologies. 
• Document and prepare unit tests for your code. 
• Work in a team environment to deliver solutions that advance the business goals of our clients and lead to referenceable, repeat customers who are genuinely happy with our services. 
• Enjoy your work and get on well with others. Friendly, team players are highly preferred. 
• Keep on pace with learning to keep your skillsets fresh and relevant and earn certifications to prove it to our clients. 

Requirements

What we're looking for:

• Attention to detail. 

• Ability to communicate detailed subject matter to the target audience. 
• Emotional intelligence is a plus. 
• Strong development background with expertise in at least one, and familiarity with others, of Python, Java, C#, C++. 
• Thorough understanding of design patterns, data structures, and anti-patterns. 
• Proven ability to develop clean and defensive code. 

• Proficiency with Redis, Mongo, Amazon RDS, and SQL are all pluses. 
• Skilled in scripting languages like Bash, Python, and JavaScript. 
• Experienced with Git (GitHub/GitLab). 
• A keen sense of curiosity. 

•  2-5 years of professional experience. 

• Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering with excellent grades and coursework. 
• Exposure to distributed computing, networking, and storage concepts. 
• Familiarity with cloud native development on the leading platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). 
• Understanding of data sharding, memory utilization and hashing concepts. 
• Certifications showing continued growth are a plus.

The target salary for this position is $120,000. Salary may be negotiable based on experience. The salary does not include any other pay elements for which this position may be eligible.
