General Summary and Purpose:

 As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will work directly with other data and IT colleagues and business stakeholders to engineer solutions that support both short-term and long-term priorities for the organization, with solutions ranging from traditional to more modern, interactive business intelligence and analytic tools. You will craft insights, create visualizations, and contribute to data products that identify business opportunity and influence client experiences.

You Will:

• Consult with business partners to understand their needs and goals and build visually appealing dashboards or reports that help them achieve those goals

• Prototype solutions for displaying information based on business needs.

• Develop high-impact analyses quantifying the impact of key business initiatives
• Communicate methodologies and results through compelling, clear visualizations and simplify and present complex concepts to a non-technical audience
• Collaborate with team members across data functions including business analysts, data engineers and data scientists to deliver best-in-class solutions
• Responsible for technical documentation that includes architecture diagrams, process flow diagrams, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
• Ensure proper balance between front-end systems and back-end processing capabilities.
• Contribute to the roadmap for Business Intelligence and data transformation solutions for the team.

You Have:

• Overall Experience: A Bachelor's degree, 2 or more years’ experience in a business intelligence, database management, ETL Development or related experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree in addition to the minimum years of work experience required OR If Master's Degree, 1 or more years’ experience in functions articulated above.
• BI tools:  Proficiency with Tableau and providing robust business intelligence reports connecting to disparate cloud databases.
• Data wrangling: You are comfortable writing SQL queries from scratch that blend together data from dozens of sources in the right form for analysis, visualization, or reporting.
• Data visualization: You excel at creating rich data visualizations to communicate complex ideas to leaders and make data-driven stories come to life through visuals.
• Business acumen: You understand the bigger picture for customers and the business and know how to probe beyond stakeholders’ stated requests to really understand their needs and the value of information.
• Detail orientation: You know how to optimize data, launch production, and manage change control.

Preferred Experience

• Tableau certification
• Experience in Financial Services Industry, preferably asset management
• 6+ years of experience with enterprise class Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, etc.)
• 3+ years of experience executing SQL queries from scratch
• 3+ years of experience deploying relational database views and tables for consumption
• Experience operating within an Agile team

Preferred Education

•  Bachelor's degree in Business, Math, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Or Master's degree in Math, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Or PhD in Math, Computer Science, or a related discipline
