Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking to a part-time Environmental Engineer V for our Annapolis Junction, MD office.  Our business focuses primarily on providing professional and technical services in engineering design, code consultation, and construction phase services for a wide variety of clients both in the private and public sectors. 

Our business line executes large and complex engineering projects and provide a comprehensive range of professional planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services.

The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Approves and signs off on work.
  • Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
  • Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
  • Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
  • Participates in development of technical proposals.
  • Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
  • Significant experience with all aspects of design, plans, and specifications for soil, groundwater, and stormwater remediation treatment systems, soil excavation, site civil plans, and AST/UST replacement designs.
  • Experience with federal, local, and private client projects.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering or related field + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening
  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a medical screening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering
  • 9+ years of experience in environmental investigations and site remediation
  • Experience with CERCLA and RCRA remediation programs at complex sites
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Experience with construction documentation, construction management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong technical report writing skills and the ability to develop design specifications
