Job Description

The Lead Fleet Technician’s primary purpose is to oversee the Fleet Shop, Technicians and ensure completion of preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment including gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, tankers, and trailers.

 

Reporting Location: Lakewood, NJ

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Compensation:  $40.00 / hour (based on qualifications)

Shift Differential: 6%-8% of base hourly rate shift differential paid for applicable hours worked

Sign On Bonus:  $10,000 (payable per BTB terms)

Skills Required:

• Program and record assigned preventative maintenance tasks 
• Assisting in education of the Route Sales Representatives' pre and post-trip inspections 
• Ensure parts are billed out in electronic and proprietary systems 
• Record all repair work in Trimble TMT electronic maintenance system and on company PM Cards 
• Order, receive, and stock parts and supplies for Fleet Shop as needed 
• Timely processing of invoices using a company P-Card or PO
• Coordinate and manage multiple outside support vendors as needed 
• Oversee Fleet Technicians, shop workload and Fleet Shop Repair performance KPI targets 
• When applicable, schedule and assign Technician's work assignments and daily tasks 
• Coordinate Fleet with internal partners and Fleet Technicians 
• Manage costs according to budget and daily completion of repairs 
• Ensure DOT and Safety, Health, and Environmental compliance standards are met 

Qualifications

• Two years technical education completed or have three years hands-on experience
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
• Ability to handle physical requirements, including, but not limited to, repeated bending, stretching, twisting, and lifting up to 60 pounds in all work conditions (indoor and outdoor)
• A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• The ability to obtain CDL B (with airbrake endorsement) within specified period of time
• Ability to obtain ASE T4 (airbrake) certification within specified period of time
• Your own personal tools
• The ability to work independently
• Microsoft Office computer skills (including Excel)
