Join CVS Health as a Senior Software Engineer - DevOps – Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer - DevOps to join our team. This role requires expertise in DevOps practices, release management, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on scalability, security, and cost optimization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement modern infrastructure and release workflows, manage platform and library releases, and foster Agile best practices across the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, or related fields
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, with a strong focus on automation, cloud platforms, and CICD practices
- 2+ years of experience in release management, including managing and streamlining release workflows for platforms or application libraries
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP environments
- Proven experience in DevOps, platform/library release management, and Agile practices
- Advanced proficiency with CICD pipelines, IaC tools, and cloud-native technologies
- Expertise in infrastructure security, cost optimization, and Kubernetes ecosystems
- Familiarity with CNCF ecosystem tools and trends
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Azure/GCP/AWS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on scalability and reliability
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain GitOps and CICD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, ArgoCD, and other modern technologies
- Collaborate with development teams to standardize and automate release workflows in line with industry best practices
- Build and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources
- Administer and optimize Kubernetes clusters while providing guidance and training to colleagues on effective Kubernetes usage
- Develop and maintain robust infrastructure and container logging solutions
- Strengthen Kubernetes security by deploying and integrating security tools
- Implement and manage observability systems using OpenTelemetry
- Optimize cloud infrastructure costs through efficient scaling strategies and enforce best practices for cost management and governance
- Act as a liaison between development, QA, and operations teams to minimize release risks and ensure smooth deployments
- Work with senior leaders to evolve culture and organizational behavior, elevating technology into a strategic partner
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

The typical pay range for this role is:
$92,700.00 - $185,400.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education
