About the role
Assists members via telephone, e-mail, and written correspondence to provide guidance to SSFCU member’s beneficiaries upon the member’s death and serves as a liaison between the insurance companies and members regarding credit life and disability insurance claims. Provides courteous and empathetic services to all family members of the deceased accountholder and ensures their rights and account records are protected from third party disclosure. Independently processes a variety of transactions and inquiries in accordance with established policies and procedures. Completes any other job related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum five (5) years of experience in a financial institution with a minimum of two (2) years in credit life and/or disability claims filing or an equivalent area. Specialized experience in Trust account rules and regulations as well as familiarity with court documents required in settlement of deceased accounts. Must have good problem solving and negotiation skills. Requires ability to work and thrive in a high volume environment. Must have good interpersonal skills including good verbal and written communication skills of a professional nature.
