Job Duties

The Medical Equipment Specialist will be responsible for inventory, tracking, and storage of facility healthcare equipment. This position works hand in hand with medical professionals to ensure medical equipment is maintained in working order, documented and handles the scheduling of maintenance for the equipment.

Job Duties:
Responsible for monitoring and coordinating replacement of broken equipment, inventory control in order to ensure proper supplies are on hand at all times, equipment tracking and distribution, and storage.
Maintains daily tracking record of patients using medical equipment i.e. hospital beds, special mattresses, rails, contour beds, rental special equipment, wound vac machines, etc.
Responsible for distribution of new equipment ordered and the collection and discarding of old or replaced equipment with proper authorization
Maintains stored equipment and supplies in ready-to-use and clean condition

Minimum Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of aseptic techniques, sterile supply needs, equipment functions, performance requirements and department administrative
procedures related to CMES. Possess demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others; to read and write; to prepare written work reports; to
maintain and track inventory and to physically perform the duties of the position, including lifting, bending, pushing and stretching. Skilled in providing
standard services. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively with others; Ability to follow directions regarding CMES procedures and
knowledge of CMES equipment, sanitation procedures and inventory control.

Additional Considerations

- Experience working with medical equipment, not limited to tracking and ordering is highly preferred.
- Familiarity in working within a special population milieu
