Job Title: Veterinary Discharge Nurse

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: 20.00+ depending on experience

Hours: 12PM – 8PM some weekends required

Hickory Veterinary Hospital is a well-established veterinary practice dedicated to providing exceptional care for pets and their owners. We are currently seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Discharge Nurse to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide thorough discharge instructions to pet owners, ensuring they understand post-care procedures, medications, and follow-up appointments.

· Audit hospitalized patient bills to ensure accuracy and completeness, addressing any discrepancies promptly.

· Collaborate with Veterinarians and other team members to ensure seamless patient transitions from hospital to home.

· Offer empathetic support and education to pet owners during the discharge process.

· Maintain accurate medical records and billing documentation.

· Assist with patient care as needed, including administering medications and monitoring recovery.

Qualifications:

· Certification as a Veterinary Technician or relevant veterinary nursing experience.

· Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.

· Experience with Veterinary billing and auditing processes.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to handle emotional and stressful situations with compassion and professionalism.

· Proficiency in using veterinary practice management software.
