We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Lead Forklift Operator - Manufacturing

This role, you will be involved in This position is responsible for operating and driving a forklift to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment, or materials in a productive and safe manner in addition to serving as the lead role of forklift operators. Provides leadership to other forklift operators.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reinforces safety procedures, guidelines, and main duties to forklift operators at the start of shift.
  • Complete accident reports.
  • Prepare work schedules for forklift operators.
  • Positions forklift over or around loaded pallets, boxes, products, or materials and transports load(s) to designated area.
  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • May inventory materials on work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
  • May weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
  • Complete the Forklift Inspection Book/Log at the beginning of shift.
  • May shrink wrap up to 60 pallets per shift.
  • Report to supervisor regarding any damage to racks, faulty equipment, or any other safety hazards.
  • Keep working area organized and clean.
  • Use a scanner gun to inventory transactions.
  • Organize and secure stored materials and parts at designated area.
  • Remain current on forklift training and certification as required by supervisor, manager, and/or Igloo Safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

A suitable background would be a solid experience within the following qualifications and experiences:

To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalency.
  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of warehouse experience; Must have six (6) months previous stand-up forklift experience.
  • English language skills: Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Math skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Physical Demands: Manufacturing environment. Able to lift up to 80 lbs.; Good hand/eye coordination; Able to stack 4 pallets high.
  • Work environment: Warehouse is hot and humid in summer months, cold in winter months.
  • Experience leading and/or supervising.
  • Ability to read labels and numbers.
  • Able to read material list to supply the assembly lines.
