Location: There is one temporary position based out of the Big Creek Research center in Astoria, OR.
Duration: This position is expected to start October 1, 2024 and last through December 31, 2024.
What you will do:
Conduct adult and juvenile salmon stream surveys by locating, driving to and walking or boating selected stream reaches. Locate and survey areas by GPS unit, reading written descriptions and maps and identifying landmarks. Operate a state vehicle. Contact private landowners to gain access to survey streams. Walk, boat, or swim stream in pre-selected survey areas.
Install, operate, and remove fish traps. Screw traps, box traps and other juvenile fish traps. Follow all safety protocols and checkl
