Camp Jack- Registered Nurse - Part Time - Temporary
SUMMARY: The Camp Jack Registered Nurse directly attends to the routine and immediate medical needs of the Camp Jack campers, while enabling eligible children and their families/caregivers to receive the rights, procedural safeguards, and services authorized under the State’s and American Camping Association’s guidelines and protocols.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Attend mandatory People Incorporated training and educational programming as required.
• Oversee all healthcare services for Camp Jack campers and staff.
• Assist with the implementation of health and wellness camp activities as scheduled.
• Navigate and use an online platform for the health records of all campers and staff members and for documentation purposes.
• Maintain consistent communication with caregivers regarding their child/children's medical treatment.
• Assist in the development of and enforce program/camp safety rules and perform First Aid when necessary.
• Maintain a safe, clean medical cabin.
• Monitor and manage campers' blood glucose levels daily .
• Plan for and request in advance necessary medical supplies.
• Provide creative support for theme weeks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Knowledge obtained through attainment of degree from an accredited institution as determined by ACA standards.
• Ability to provide current copy of Registered Nurse license, CPR/FA certification, and required health records.
• Knowledge and skill obtained through at least two years of experience in human services.
• Knowledge of pediatrics and being active in outdoor settings.
• Skill in communicating and working both independently and with a team.
• Ability to accurately maintain records.
• Pass a qualifying criminal background check.
