SUMMARY STATEMENT & PURPOSE: This position collaborates with the RN team to provide direct patient care both before and after surgery. This position functions within the RCW 18.360.050 scope of practice law.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Prepares patients for examination including obtaining vital signs.
- Practices standard precautions.
- Observes and reports patients' signs or symptoms.
- Administers eye drops and topical ointments under the direct supervision of a health care practitioner.
- Prepares patients for and assists with lasers and procedures including pressure checks.
- Communicates with leadership team daily to ensure efficient work environment to include communication regarding problems, questions, scheduling, creative ideas.
- Ability to assist with patient transport.
- Performs opening, closing and on call duties.
- Assists in patient education.
- Record patient health history.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical Assistant – Registered (completed upon hire)
- Knowledge of word processing software
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous medical assistant experience

Pay Scale: $18.00 - $27.00
