Summary:
Geico is seeking a Manager – Leadership Protection and Event Security, who will be responsible for overseeing the leadership protection program and ensuring the health, safety, and physical security of all attendees at GEICO-sponsored or hosted events. The primary responsibilities include developing and implementing comprehensive security plans and protocols, directing activities to safeguard senior management and company events, and providing threat analysis across multiple platforms with cross-functional teams. Reporting to the Head of Security, the incumbent will design and manage a Leadership Protection and Event Security Program that utilizes specialized training in principle protection and event security planning to mitigate emerging and ongoing threats to the organization and its assets.
You Will:
- Security Planning: Create and carry out detailed security plans for each event, including risk evaluations, staff requirements, and emergency response strategies. Responsible for developing and implementing protocols to ensure the safety of clients and associates at events.
- Screening/Vetting: Oversee thorough screening procedures for all event guests.
- Project Management: Manage projects and security assessments related to events.
- Advance Preparation: Travel ahead of events to conduct in-depth security surveys at all locations, establishing necessary contacts and arrangements for guest safety.
- Threat Analysis: Analyze potential threats by thoroughly monitoring and assessing multiple platforms.
- Collaboration: Maintain close relationships with Events teams, coordinating directly with Intelligence, Threat Management, and Regional Security Teams. Work alongside event planners, local law enforcement, and venue partners.
- Response Capabilities: Remain vigilant and ready to respond to security situations around the clock during events.
- Strategy Development: Design and implement both short- and long-term threat management, intelligence, prevention, and security strategies to protect Geico Associates.
- Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all security activities meet legal and regulatory standards, while maintaining awareness of advancements in security technology and practices to improve safety measures.
- Incident Management: Act as the central contact for security incidents, leading resolutions efficiently and keeping Security Leadership informed.
- Partnerships: Build strong connections with key business stakeholders, as well as local and federal law enforcement agencies.
- Executive Security: Carry out projects and assessments concerning the security of the senior leadership team.
You Have:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in corporate security, leadership/executive protection, and event management.
- Proven leadership with ability to communicate (written and verbally) with all levels of the organization.
- Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating with private security and international, federal, state, and local first responder agencies.
- Critical thinking under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated/self-starter.
- AED/CPR/ First Aid and STB Certified. Must be obtained within 6 months of hiring.
- Strong technical understanding of threat actor motives, tactics, and defense strategies.
- Collaborative skills working across technical and non-technical teams.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed and travel up to 50% of the time.
Location: Bethesda, MD - hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 days from home)
Annual Salary
$100,450.00 - $157,850.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
