St. Cloud State University seeks a dedicated and innovative faculty member to lead the implementation of a new Public Safety concentration within the Cybersecurity B.S. Degree program. This interdisciplinary role involves teaching, curriculum development, and fostering partnerships with public safety organizations. The faculty member will equip students with the skills needed to address both cyber and physical threats, preparing them for careers in cyber-incident response, digital forensics, and cybersecurity consulting for public safety.
Develop and teach courses within the Public Safety concentration, including new offerings in digital crime, cyber victimology, criminology, applied cybersecurity, and ethical implications of emerging technologies.
Collaborate with local public safety agencies to create experiential learning opportunities, such as internships and capstone projects.
Engage in research and scholarship in the fields of cybersecurity and public safety.
Incorporate Artificial Intelligence into the Cybersecurity curriculum.
Advise and mentor students, supporting their academic and professional development.
Participate in departmental and university service activities.
Contribute to the recruitment and retention of students in the Cybersecurity Program.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Criminology, Public Safety, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated expertise in both cybersecurity and public safety.
Training or experience with technology including programming languages and artificial intelligence.
Experience in teaching at the undergraduate level.
Strong record of research and scholarship in relevant fields.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and maintain partnerships with public safety organizations.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
Preferred Qualification
Experience in curriculum development and program implementation.
Professional experience in public safety or cybersecurity roles.
Knowledge of emerging technologies and their applications in public safety.
Experience with experiential learning methods, such as service learning or community engagement projects.
Ability to secure research grants and funding.
Familiarity with ethical and legal issues in cybersecurity and public safety.
