Purpose

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is looking to hire a Postdoctoral fellow in the field of micro-fabrication and nano-fluidics for potential applications in biotechnology.

Each postdoctoral position is considered a temporary training position that may be renewed annually, based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and the continuation of funding. Position expected to continue until 8/31/2028.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and lead applied and fundamental research in the areas of micro-fabrication and nano-fluidics for potential applications in biotechnology.

  • The position is responsible for preparing high-quality scholarly publications, presentations, and research reports, as well as attending relevant meetings, workshops, and conferences as necessary.

  • Participate in departmental grant-writing efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering or science discipline received within the last three years.

  • Track record of academic excellence and scholarly work.

  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, and strong communications and presentation skills.

  • Working knowledge in the field of micro-fabrication and nano-fluidics for potential applications in biotechnology.

  • Prior experience with material characterization and instrumentation is preferred.

Salary Range

$61,093 + depending on qualifications
