Job Duties

Provide leadership and direction for the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Department, ensuring that the department provides rich and diverse therapeutic experiences to patients while meeting all internal and external regulations. This position provides supervision for a team of Rehabilitation Therapists, Rehabilitation Specialists and Peer Support Specialists; works with other CCCA leaders to integrate Psychosocial Rehabilitation activities into overall service delivery; and understands CCCA’s role within Virginia’s system of care, as well as the role of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation department, and interfaces with external stakeholders as necessary to support high quality therapy services. The Director of Psychosocial Rehabilitation oversees the design of rehabilitation therapy and peer support interventions at the Center, in both group and individual formats, to promote development of affect regulation, self-esteem, social skills, trust, distress tolerance, interpersonal skills, and other skill development that support goals and objectives identified in individual treatment plans and may participate in individual and group therapy services.

Minimum Qualifications

• In depth knowledge of human growth and development and positive behavior management techniques
• Specialized knowledge in principles and techniques of an occupational therapist, recreation specialist, art therapist, music therapist, or therapeutic counselor.
• Demonstrated leadership acumen with strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
