Position Overview:

The Junior Software Engineer, will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing robust interface solutions using a low-code platform. This role requires a deep technical acumen, with a strong focus on SQL and JavaScript. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create efficient and user-friendly applications.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Low-code Platform Expertise
• Specialize in utilizing the Retool platform to design and develop internal and external-facing applications.
• Stay updated on the latest Retool features and incorporate them into interface solutions.
• Interface Design and Development
• Architect, design, and develop interfaces to ensure seamless integration between various systems and applications using Retool.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective Retool-based solutions.
• SQL Expertise
• Leverage advanced SQL skills within the Retool platform to query databases, analyze data, and optimize database performance.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance SQL scripts and queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Vanilla Javascript and CSS Expertise
• Apply JavaScript and CSS knowledge within a low-code platform to enhance interface functionality and contribute to the development of user-friendly features.
• Familiarity with building charts using Plotly.js or similar library
• Collaborate with front-end development teams to integrate Retool-based solutions seamlessly into user interfaces.
• System Integration
• Work closely with Data Engineering team to integrate Retool-based interfaces with existing systems and applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve interface-related issues to ensure optimal system performance.
• AWS Services Familiarity
• Experience with AWS Cloudwatch for troubleshooting purposes.
• Experience with Lambda and API Gateway to deploy functions using Python or JavaScript

 

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries and optimize database performance.
• Familiarity with JavaScript and its application within the Retool platform.
• Solid understanding of data integration concepts, ETL processes, and system architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
