About the role

We are looking for a talented Field Service Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business (Oak Creek, WI).

$5000 sign on bonus

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:  

- Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop. 

- Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work. 

- Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.  

- Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. 

- Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products. 

To be successful in this role the following is preferred:   

- (Advanced) Technician Level III: Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all of products in-scope for a technician at this location; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requires minimal to no supervision; ability to effectively train and guide less experienced technicians of varying skillsets.

  • Customer-facing role. 
  • Engage customers courteously and professionally. 
  • Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
  • Capturing engine data 
  • Fault diagnostics 
  • Diverse range engine repairs, both major and minor
  • Inspect and replace components as required
  • Engine rebuilding and reconditioning
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as having the ability to work in a great team environment 
  • A high level of medium and heavy-duty engine experience in the field or from the workshop looking to move into the field
  • Relevant trade qualification 
  • Strong engine diagnostic experience
  • A genuine commitment to workplace safety
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Good interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills

 

-    A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire

-    This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

-    A current valid license is required for this role
-    This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
-    This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
-    3 years driving experience
-    This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
-    Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
