- This position will be working in our new facility at Mount Carmel Dublin working three 12-hour shifts per week from 7am - 7:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

Position Purpose:
In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Licensed Practical Nurse - with Meds, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Functioning in the spirit of teamwork, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Organization.

DELEGATION: Directs unlicensed staff in work related activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Demonstrates the ability to manage the patient assignment effectively.
COMMUNICATION: Communicates pertinent clinical information to appropriate members of the patient care team. Keeps patient/family appraised/updated.
EDUCATION: Provides patient/family education under the direction of the Registered Nurse
CONTINUITY PLANNING: In conjunction with the physician and RN, identifies discharge needs, participates in planning and completes continuity of care forms as appropriate.
COLLABORATION: Collaborates with Providers, house staff, Registered Nurses, and other health care disciplines regarding patient care.
SAFE PRACTICE: Performs treatments and procedures according to approved standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines. Verifies and implements physician/other licensed independent practitioner’s orders. Administers medications, according to the organization’s standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines. Initiates appropriate emergency procedures within the scope of practice under the direction of the RN/physician.
