Department Overview
The IT Billing Modernization team is focused on the successful implementation of the Customer to Meter Modernization project. PG&E is currently using Customer Care and Billing (“CC&B”) V2.4 platform, which is out of support, contains more the 5,700 customizations developed over the past two decades, and is not able to support ongoing business and customer needs. PG&E is seeking an replace the current CC&B platform to take advantage of up-to-date application capabilities, integrated MDM functionality, reduction of customizations by leveraging base product features, modular rating engine, and other enhanced customer experience opportunities.
Position Summary
The main role of the IT Business Analyst (BA) is to analyze and propose system solutions for the business and IT stakeholders. The BA is viewed as an integral strategic partner and business liaison in technology decisions who understands business content, procedures, processes and systems for the corresponding business units. The BA is responsible for assembling, analyzing, and translating business requirements into detailed requirements and functional specifications. The BA performs feasibility analysis, develops project scope, and provides recommendations on the alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization, as well as system alternatives or enhancements to current systems. The BA Analyzes business needs, defines detailed requirements and validates solutions with the client. The successful candidate will be able to do analysis for Oracle’s Customer Care and Billing (CC&B), Customer to Meter (C2M), and various other meter-to-cash processes.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $102,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $162,000.00
&/OR
California Minimum: $97,000.00
California Maximum: $154,000.00
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Responsibilities:
Client Support and Consulting:
- Provide consulting in information technology to the client to identify and satisfy the business needs.
- Analyze end-to-end business processes of moderate to high complexity and information needs of the clients in one or more business functional areas.
- Understand the client’s current and future business environment, effectively anticipate, identify and meet the business needs.
- Identify, propose and influence IT solutions to moderate-to-complex business problems; negotiate requirements and deliverables with the client.
- Evaluate and document alternatives that will provide the most effective solutions to business problems.
- Anticipate client concerns and questions, and provide timely and professional client-focused communications.
- Provide timely responses to client inquiries.
- Communicate IT processes to the business clients.
Business Analysis:
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of concepts, principles or practices in a specific business area.
- Demonstrates seasoned, experienced- based judgment in applying and adapting techniques with high credibility of the project team members.
- Define and document business requirements for moderate-to-complex projects.
- Able to analyze and design solutions independently with limited guidance.
- Actively contribute to the business cases for IT projects and initiatives.
- Able to lead medium to high complexity level requirements efforts and coaching or mentoring less experienced business analysts.
