Senior Accountant, Revenue

Candle Media is hiring a Senior Revenue Accountant to support the Candle team, reporting to the SVP of Accounting. In this role, you’ll be focused on ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP.  You’ll also  assist in the month end close and reporting process. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include preparing journal entries, conducting ad hoc revenue analysis, performing data analytics research, analyzing account fluctuations, and contributing to special projects as needed.

We’re looking for a strategic thinker who will be able to support key initiatives for our business including ensuring accurate revenue recognition, financial compliance, and contributing to the overall success of our finance function.You will collaborate with cross functional teams and other business partners daily to ensure accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting.

• Monitor intercompany transactions, ensuring they are appropriately documented, recorded, and comply with company policies and accounting standards. 
• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, specifically focusing on intercompany reconciliations and eliminations. 
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls over intercompany transactions, minimizing the risk of errors and fraud. 
• Participate in and drive revenue to cash process improvements and automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and enhance revenue system capabilities. 
• Gain an in-depth understanding of Company operations and business results within assigned areas to prepare monthly analysis and variance explanations. 
• Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Prepare intercompany settlement file and coordinate with cross-functional teams on the settlement process 
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls & help implement best practices
• Prepare financial statement disclosures related to revenue recognition
• Assist with identifying areas for process improvement & efficiency
• Maintain the documentation of existing and new intercompany processes and procedures 

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, Big 8-10 experience preferred
• Must have experience in revenue accounting
• Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP
• CPA or progress towards obtaining a license is preferred
• Must be highly proficient in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLookUp’s, Sumifs etc
• Analytical mindset & ability to work with large sets of data
• Ability to work under pressure, often in a deadline-driven environment, and ability to perform several tasks concurrently
• Must possess excellent critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and superior attention to detail
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
• Prior experience with Netsuite or other ERP systems is a plus

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is between $150,000 - $170,000
