About the role

Our Company: BCI Brands. designs, sources, and markets nationally and internationally an extensive range of women's career, casual sportswear, and dresses. Their products are sold through all primary retail distribution levels principally under various trademarks and under private label brand names.

POSITION: Color Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and maintain brand identity and product integrity utilizing color expertise in all approval decisions
  • Comment on all lab dips, knit downs, strike offs, handlooms, and bulk yardage submits to include woven, knit & sweaters for your account(s)
  • Maintain organized seasonal filing system for all color submissions in library
  • Bring all items together to match the color standards
  • Utilize light booth for color evaluation
  • Provide comments/direction to mills in fabric aesthetic and quality issues during development process
  • Maintain seasonal color approval cards by color to ensure matching across fabric qualities
  • Input and maintain all comments in WIP/PLM system
  • Track & follow up for color approval submits
  • Send artwork & standards to mills as needed
  • Assist Color Manager in daily functions
  • Partner with Design teams to ensure you have all the most updated line sheets and color palettes
  • Other assignments as needed

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience in fabric/garment production
  • Must have a color background (required)
  • Good working knowledge of color theory in order to communicate appropriate color comments to achieve desired color outcome
  • Familiar with color language/vocabulary used when communicating with mills
  • Understanding of color depth, value, saturation, and cast
  • Fabric knowledge
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced and changing priority environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Superior color vision
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • High level of organizational skills
  • PC Proficient, including Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel mastery a plus)
  • Ability to work well in a cross functional environment
  • Ability to distinguish color
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
