Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Taxation’s Office of Tax Policy, Tax Adjudication and Resolution Unit is seeking an OIC Analyst Sr. to resolve offers in compromise primarily related to requests for penalty waiver, hardship relief, as well as to resolve sensitive and/or complex cases in a manner consistent with the agency’s mission, values and Code of Ethics.
The OIC Analyst Sr. will enhance quality customer service by supporting the appeals and OIC process, mediate sensitive cases in a fair and equitable manner as well as identify issues that impede service and recommending effective solutions to management.


This position can work from either the Main Street Centre location in Richmond or the agency’s office in Norfolk.

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule once fully trained.

The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience, up to $60,000.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of and working experience with state and federal taxes

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to conduct research and demonstrated analytical skills

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and ability to balance competing priorities effectively

• Technical ability with computers and the IRMS system

 

 

Additional Considerations

• Knowledge and experience with accounting principles and practices

• Advanced analytical and data related skills
