Embedded Firmware Engineer

We are seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to architect, design, prototype, develop, and test firmware for electronic subsystems for a marine robot. Work could involve archetyping and developing embedded firmware to support the subsystem.
Job Responsibilities:

• Define requirements, ideate, and implement embedded firmware for an electronic subsystem for a marine robot.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate the subsystem with the vehicle.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in C/C++ Embedded Firmware.
• Experience with implementing digital communication standards, such as CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, and Ethernet.
• US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.
• Experience in STM32 microcontroller firmware development.
• Experience in embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS) and scheduling.
• Experience utilizing hardware peripherals in microcontrollers, such as timers, interrupts, ADCs, DACs, and SFRs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous work in marine robotics projects or other vehicle technology.
• 2 to 5 years' prior work experience in embedded firmware and system development.
• Experience with embedded Linux applications.
• Experience with CAN and Ethernet protocols.
• Experience with implementing discrete time control systems on embedded hardware.
