Your Opportunity

At “Oscar & Paul – Beiersdorf Venture Capital” (www.oscar-and-paul.com) we strive to shape the future of skin care by investing into innovative companies and start-ups to jointly drive disruptive technologies and skin care innovations. Key opportunity fields are life sciences, sustainability, and digital (health) solutions.  
As part of the CVC team, you will have end-to-end deal responsibility, from origination to portfolio management. You will be able to leverage the assets from a global leader in skin care and will be working closely together with the R&D innovation functions in the respective fields.  

  
Your Responsibilities

• Deal Sourcing: You identify and evaluate investment opportunities in relevant fields of life science by engaging with entrepreneurs, universities, startup networks and VC/angel investors and leveraging you existing network. 
• Investment Case Leadership: You lead investment projects from origination to final approval, including strategic assessment & recommendations to the investment committee as well as close collaboration with internal R&D expert functions and key internal stakeholders. 
• Due Diligence: You conduct comprehensive due diligence, including technology assessment, market and competitor analysis, financial evaluation, and team due diligence. 
• Portfolio Management: You manage and monitor existing portfolio companies, working with founders and providing strategic guidance to enhance growth and performance. 
• Networking: You build and maintain strong relationships within the startup ecosystem, including entrepreneurs, investors, and industry partners as well as with BDF internal innovation owners. 
• Market Connect & Thought Leadership: You stay up-to-date with investment trends, emerging technologies, and competitive intelligence in the relevant life science fields to bring outside-in perspective and VC investor thinking to the BDF innovation community. 

Your Profile

• University degree in life sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.) 
• Long term relevant working experience, life science related (Corporate) Venture Capital experience is mandatory 
• Strong personal network in the (US) Life Science / Venture Capital ecosystem 
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills 
• Sound experience in investment project management 
• Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written), further languages are welcome  
• Home Base in the US preferable
