Accounting Advisor - Owner Relations & Cash

About the role

Specific Responsibilities

The Accounting Advisor role for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s accounting organization and perform higher level analysis, complex reconciliations, and reviews focused primarily on special projects and requests related to Owner Relations and Cash Application. The Accounting Advisor will assist department management in research projects and preparing ad hoc data analytics and analysis.  
  • Perform a host of various accounting functions and tasks related to Apache properties and affiliate subsidiaries.
  • Perform duties that may include training teammates, troubleshooting issues, overseeing internal controls, functioning as team backup, and assisting with special projects or preparing ad hoc data analytics and analysis.
  • Provide critical quality control over close cycle processes and performing key internal control procedures timely.
  • Prepare responses related to owner inquiries, operational Asset Team inquiries, and internal & external audit requests with limited supervision.
  • Work on special projects with analytical fortitude, and ability to be a key contributor on team projects.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, other field of study may be considered when combined with a minimum of 12 completed accounting hours.
  • 8+ years of professional accounting or auditing experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP (FI/PRA) and EnergyLink, preferred but not required.
  • Pursues work with energy, drive, and results orientation.
  • Possesses deep understanding and knowledge of subject matter with analytical thinking skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet monthly deadlines; appropriately prioritizing assigned tasks.
  • Able to provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to team members, without having specific direct reports.
  • Able to work well in a team setting with consistent and professional interactions and approachability with team members.
  • Possesses strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, administrative, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
