The Department of County Human Services is excited to announce we are currently seeking an experienced individual to provide services as a Limited Duration Behavioral Health Supervisor (job profile: Program Supervisor) with the Homeless Mobile Intake Team within Aging, Disability and Veteran Services (ADVSD). Limited durations must not exceed 2 years. This Limited Duration position is currently anticipated to last for two (2) years but can end at any time.

This position is responsible for program leadership of the Homeless Mobile Intake Behavioral Health team to ensure that adults experiencing homelessness and behavior concerns are connected with services through the Behavioral Health Medicaid Service Waiver.  You will be responsible for ensuring services are provided in accordance with established Federal, State and County guidelines and alignment with the Division's mission and values.   You will work out of the ADVSD office at Tabor Square in SE Portland, and will be responsible for supervising a team Case Manager 2s.

The eligible list created from this recruitment may be used to fill future regular, limited duration, temporary, on-call, full or part-time assignments within the department

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferably Behavioral Health (Professional work at or near the level of this position can substitute year for year for the educational requirement)

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in increasingly responsible professional leadership or technical program experience working with Behavioral Health and aging and disability programs.

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Must pass a criminal background check

However, keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. Please clearly explain on your application how you meet any of the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of and ability to appropriately apply pertinent laws and policies related to the administration of Federal and State financial, medical and long term services and supports programs for older adults and individuals with disabilities

  • Advanced understanding of the Behavioral Health needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.  Preferred advanced knowledge of the Behavioral Health system and accessing their services. 

  • Knowledge of available programs, public assistance providers, service agencies, protective services, referral centers, community resources, and crisis/emergency resources

  • Ability to provide direction, implement change management, and lead a complex program

  • Ability to manage employees including guiding, coaching, initiating performance improvement, corrective action, and disciplinary action when appropriate

  • Experience using a participatory management style to promote teamwork and a "learning" work environment for employees
