<h2>Job Purpose</h2>
<p>The Director of LNG Operations NY reports to the Vice President of Gas Network Operations and is accountable for leading the LNG operations teams at two company owned facilities in New York ensuring the safe and reliable functioning of LNG assets. The role is accountable to perform compliance and quality assurance, pipeline safety and process safety management assessments of company and contractor personnel to ensure construction, maintenance, and plant operations activities are performed in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, County and City code requirements, as well as company work methods, policies and procedures.</p>
<p>The role ensures plant operations personnel and management staff are trained and qualified, as well as can demonstrate job knowledge and competencies of the work tasks being performed. The scope of the Director LNG NY role extends from National Grid’s interconnection with the company’s transmission and distribution assets through to the LNG facilities liquefaction, vaporization and storage assets. The LNG Team operates and maintain the most complex and hazardous types of natural gas equipment and processes at National Grid and are responsible to ensure this equipment is operated safely and reliably, and that the plants are “always on”. This, along with ensuring the personal safety of employees and the public will be achieved with robust regulatory compliance, financial efficiency, process safety risk management and developing an expert operations team that is fully able to manage all LNG equipment in a reliable and safe way. The Director of LNG Operations needs to possess a wide range of gas industry knowledge, skills and experience in order to understand the various aspects of managing a complex energy facility along with the ancillary processes necessary to deliver safe and reliable gas service to National Grid customers.</p>
<h2>Key Accountabilities</h2>
<ul>
<li>Lead, motivate, and develop a specialist team of Engineers, Supervisors, Analysts, Mechanics and Technicians ensuring the highest levels of competency and knowledge are attained.</li>
<li>Direct the work of the LNG team to ensure the safe and reliable installation, operation and maintenance of the various plant assets, equipment and systems in addition to support provided to LNG facilities as needed through effective utilization of staff personnel and skillsets.</li>
<li>Effectively lead a represented workforce and actively manage business relationships with Local Union leaders and Business Agents.</li>
<li>Demonstrate through personal actions and ensure within LNG staff the highest standards of ethical and transparent behaviour while fostering an inclusive culture at all levels.</li>
<li>Promote the development of safe team working in order to achieve business objectives, continuously improve performance, and assure the highest standards of personal and process safety.</li>
<li>Translate business objectives into clearly defined business plans, costs and resourcing schedules in order to challenge and improve ways of working, meet financial constraints and make effective use of plant O&M and capital budgets.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Asset team the efforts to develop Rate Case proposals to ensure revenue is available to promote future LNG operations, to support new safety or efficiency initiatives, and match resources to needs and growth.</li>
<li>Lead with peers in LNG Operations the development and implementation of equipment and installation, operating, and maintenance standards for plants assets, equipment and systems. Ensure that construction activities by other stakeholders are safely managed and plant operations are coordinated ensuring reliability.</li>
<li>In conjunction with Gas Control, manage operational process activities to ensure that the highest levels of system safety and reliability are maintained, and that abnormal operating conditions and system emergencies are effectively managed.
