POSITION SUMMARY

 

During the planning and startup phase, the Senior Operations Manager serves as the Onsite Startup Leader and will liaison with the Nestle Purina leadership team at headquarters, Nestle Purina leaders at other operating locations, outside contractors and, as needed, external contacts in the public domain. You will lead, plan, organize, take proactive steps, solve problems, communicate, and collaborate as necessary to ensure a smooth and successful vertical startup of the Eden, North Carolina facility.

 

  • Lead the Operations team including:
    • Coordinate with the local HR Manager and with Talent Sourcing to recruit, screen and hire the people needed to staff the facility.
    • Manage associate performance, talent development, compensation, and progressive discipline.
    • Maintain favorable employee relations environment by maintaining open-door policies
      and fair, consistent, and equitable treatment of employees.
    • Oversee budget for profit & loss structure within Operations.
  • Optimize plant’s capacity and flexibility with changing business needs to maximize throughput and minimize cost.
  • Uphold factory Core values and act as strong ambassador within the team
    • Fully support the factory safety program.
    • Promote and support quality improvements.
    • Expected to spend at least 50% of workdays on factory floor coaching and supporting all associates.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes, assessments and changes to enhance performance.
    • Manage long and short-term planning to improve plant infrastructure and technology.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of management experience within manufacturing, production, warehouse, or military environment
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience 

OR

  • High School Diploma 
  • 10+ years of management experience within manufacturing, production, warehouse, or military environment
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience 

 

Other

  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing start up environment 

 

The approximate range for this position is $128,000 - $179,000.  Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
