JOB SUMMARY

The program coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the residency program and reports directly to the GME Program Manager and indirectly to the appropriate program director. The program coordinator should have a broad knowledge of the residency program annual calendar, general and subspecialty program requirements, and recruitment. Responsibilities span beyond just administration to include duties such as evaluation, recruitment, accreditation, administrative processes. This individual ensures the smooth day-to-day coordination of all administrative tasks, providing essential support to program directors, residents, and faculty. The coordinator acts as a liaison between the residency program and other departments, handling logistics, compliance, communications, and data management. Their role is critical in ensuring that the residency program runs efficiently and meets accreditation standards. Also works as part of the team to accomplish the goals of the department.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Licensure:  N/A

Experience:  Three years of office experience or equivalent experience in administration and office management or leadership will be considered instead of a degree.

Skills: With the increasing scope and complexity of program requirements and documentation, the program coordinator must have superior organizational skills. The ability to prioritize work independently and meet important deadlines is critical.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Typical office environment subject to frequent interruptions and heavy work volume with certain deadline requirements. Moderate amounts of physical activity including stooping, lifting and walking. High tolerance for stress and ability to deal with numerous task requests simultaneously.
