Sr. Data Analyst, Soccer Ops

Description

We are looking for a Sr. Data Analyst who will support our first team, professional development, and academy teams through data-driven insights and custom technical solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with software development skills to create tools that drive performance, inform scouting, and enhance tactical decision-making across all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analytics

• Develop and implement sophisticated player performance models and metrics
• Create and execute complex SQL queries to extract targeted data for specialized reporting
• Process and analyze athlete tracking data (GPS) to monitor and optimize performance metrics
• Design and maintain player rating systems to support recruitment and development initiatives
• Conduct research on player development characteristics to refine talent identification and progression pathways

Software Development

• Build and maintain full-stack web  applications using Django (backend) and React (frontend)
• Enhance existing scouting and performance analysis platforms while ensuring system stability
• Develop player-facing tools for performance feedback and developmental guidance
• Integrate AI capabilities into scouting and analysis applications 

Requirements

•  Proficiency in Python, SQL, JavaScript, and React
• Proven experience building and maintaining full-stack web applications
• Expert knowledge of sports performance metrics and analytics methodologies
• Experience working with athlete tracking data and performance modeling
• Ability to translate complex analytical concepts into actionable insights
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with coaching, medical, and scouting staff
• Passion for sports analytics and player development
