The Project Analyst will be primarily responsible for project support from bidding to completion of the contract including setting up projects, monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating project financial performance. This individual will be working directly with Project Managers to ensure timely and accurate recording and tracking of project expenditures, expense forecasting, scheduling, purchasing, and monitoring resource usage. The Project Analyst is responsible to communicate with the team to ensure they are aware of any new developments in project status and deadlines, under the direction of the Vice President of Professional Services of Systems. This support will include financial statement analysis, postmortem analysis and related forecasting and reporting along with, ad hoc analysis and special reports. This person will also calculate and present key performance indicators for executive management. As this person will interact with various personnel from other departments, he/she must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with other parties. 

DUTIES

  • Assist the VP with maintaining project and regional financial records and forecasts.
  • Use project scheduling (MS Project/Primavera P6) and other control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to project team.
  • Track invoices and assist with approving payment in company AR and AP systems.
  • Track the progress and quality of work being performed by disciplines/trades.
  • Assist the PM in the drafting and issuance of project change orders, plans, and schedules, pulling permits, resource allocation and maintaining project schedules, etc.
  • Maintain Project records including Contracts, Letters of Intent, Purchase Orders, etc.
  • Manage purchasing request and inventory.
  • Maintain Contract Execution Tracking Log.
  • Assist the PM and Estimator in the review of Contractor quotations to ensure that only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval.
  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive demeanor. Be a role model for others to demonstrate similar behaviors.
  • Keep the Project Manager (PM), Department Manager and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations.
  • Identify and quantify cost factors, such as time, materials, and expenses.
  • Use computer software to prepare estimates and supporting documentation.
  • Provide administrative/clerical support to department (schedule meetings, follow up with clients, etc.).
  • Assist the VP of PS with reviewing expense reports, invoices, and completing and other corporate paperwork as requested.
  • Assist in development and preparation of monthly management reporting package.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Support the Company’s annual budget process and standard review.
  • Serves as a proactive customer service & quality ambassador of Econolite Systems Inc. by representing the organization in a positive, professional manner.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management or administration, equivalent field, or experience.
  • Traffic Signal and Transportation Systems experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Outstanding analytic skills and attention to detail. Strong numbers aptitude.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • High standard of integrity.
  • Team orientation and ability to deal cross functionally with other finance teams.
  • High customer service orientation.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Expert in in Microsoft Project or Primavera and Excel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Business Intelligence tools such as
