About the role

Description

The Department of Surgery at Stony Brook Medicine, Division of Surgical Oncology, is seeking an endocrine surgeon in Stony Brook, New York.  Successful candidates will be board-certified/board-eligible in General Surgery and have fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery.

Job duties & Essential Functions:

  • Academic rank will be determined based on individual qualifications. 
  • This position will consist of clinical activities and protected research time-based on candidate's qualifications. 
  • Ability to work in both outpatient and inpatient environments.
  • Ability to work with residents and be a part of the teaching faculty for our academic programs.    
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Certified Diabetic Educators.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical skills in endocrine surgery.  MD/DO Degree (or foreign equivalent). Candidates will be Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery, Fellowship trained in Endocrine Surgery. The successful candidate needs to have a current valid NYS license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience teaching residents and fellows and clinical and/or basic science research.  Applicants should have an academic focus, interest and commitment to clinical practice, medical education, and research.  Demonstrated experience in research and the mentoring of residents.  Prior clinical experience in endocrine surgery.
