At a Glance

Earn weekly pay with BDS! The Sr. Event Specialist will help plan and execute end to end external/internal events on behalf of Motorola North America (NA) and provide administrative support to the NA Marketing and Sales team. Not only does this person excel at event planning but also is comfortable representing the company at events while maintaining positive relationships with all guests and stakeholders. This position is temporary and will end on November 1st, 2024.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide top-notch experience for high-level customers and internal executives
  • Direct the planning and execution of timelines and logistics for each customer event in a professional manner: ordering food and beverage, coordinating support from other teams (AV, Facilities, Engineering, Research, etc), transportation logistics, special evening event arrangements, sleeping room management
  • Strong on-site presence for events: early arrival for setup, attentive mindset during to proactively meet needs of customers and hosts, capacity to adjust to short-term change quickly and calmly, tidying of space throughout and after the event
  • Create, maintain and execute event budget within the pre-approved expenditure allotments
  • Manage multiple events at one time
  • Assist with onsite activation for large corporate events and internal C-level executive visits
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors including restaurants, conference venues, caterers, florists, etc.
  • Ad-hoc administrative and project work where required: device requests / inventory management, partnership accounts management, PR event support, campaign planning, regular in-depth ROI analysis of all deal benefits and contribution to overall strategy of how partnership marketing differentiates Motorola in the marketplace from both a brand and sales perspective

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Experience and Education:

  • 2+ years event planning/coordination
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or another related field required
  • Natural project manager, organized, detail-oriented and able to meet strict deadlines with third party agency partners
  • You exude creativity! Always thinking, how can this event be cooler, more fun or unique?
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and Google Enterprise suite of products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Timely, effective and professional communication. High level of communication, both verbal and written
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, strong flexibility to respond to changing priorities and needs
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to continuously acquire new competencies and accept new challenges
  • The ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment

 

Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, with good time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a very fast-paced environment in a global role with different time zones
  • Proactive and takes initiative and ownership in all work, including getting projects approved
  • Must be able to iterate and plan out ideas quickly
  • Must be highly organized with an attention to detail
  • Must be able to meet deadlines while working independently
  • The ability to wear different hats as it pertains to job responsibilities and day-to-day requests
