College Board - Advanced Placement & Instruction (AP&I)  

Location: This is a fully remote role. Candidates who live near CB offices have the option of being fully remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in office).  

Role Type: This is a full-time position. 

 

About the Team  

The AP Curriculum and Assessment Team at College Board (110+ staff) collaborates with colleagues across all aspects of the AP Program to develop, manage, and deliver AP’s 40+ courses in a wide variety of subject areas. AP® is a rigorous academic program built on the commitment, passion, and hard work of students and educators from secondary schools and higher education. AP provides willing and academically prepared high school students with the opportunity to study and learn at the college level. 

 

The AP Reading and Scoring function lies at the heart of AP’s assessment integrity and instructional value. Each year, more than 18,000 college faculty and AP teachers convene to evaluate millions of student responses, ensuring scoring quality, fairness, and consistency across subjects. The AP Curriculum & Assessment (C&A) team—through its leadership of Reader training, scoring guidelines, standard and grade setting, and publications—ensures that each exam score represents a valid, reliable measure of student achievement aligned to college-level standards. Within AP C&A, the AP Assessment Team is a cross functional group of experts with deep knowledge in academic content, systems, project management. This team provides critical support to AP C&A content developers in the design, delivery, and scoring of AP exams. 

 

About the Opportunity   

As the Senior Director, AP Reading Publications and Quality Assurance, you will serve as a key leader within both the AP Assessment and AP C&A teams. You are a strategic, collaborative, and technically adept professional who excels in fast-paced environments. With exceptional organizational and communication skills, you are deeply committed to the success of the AP Reading and the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of AP free-response scoring.  

You will lead the end-to-end strategy, development, and quality oversight of all AP Reading publications ensuring alignment with the strategic vision of AP Curriculum & Assessment (C&A) leadership and broader program goals. 

 

In this role, you will drive and coordinate high-impact initiatives that support the successful execution of AP Reading for AP C&A content teams. You will collaborate closely with internal content teams and both internal and external stakeholders to plan, manage, and facilitate all AP Reading assessment activities. This includes overseeing the preparation and deployment of scoring assets, providing on-site support at AP Reading convention centers, and ensuring seamless coordination across all phases of the scoring process. 

 

Additionally, you will be responsible for managing templates, schedules, and deliverables for all AP post-administration publications, while also collecting, analyzing, and reporting key data metrics to inform process improvements. You will ensure that all systems, documentation, and stakeholder workflows are optimized to support a smooth, consistent, and effective AP Reading experience across all AP subjects and content teams.
