Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of warehouse facilities and equipment. Your role will involve managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring that the warehouse operates efficiently and safely. You will coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities, manage maintenance schedules, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Your focus will be on maintaining a clean, organized, and functional warehouse environment to support overall operational efficiency.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and oversee a team of maintenance technicians.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and technical advice to ensure quality work is produced from the team of maintenance technicians.
- Provide technical guidance regarding the installation, maintenance, and repair of warehouse equipment and systems.
- Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing, and implementing assigned installation, maintenance, and repair activities, coordinating with other departments to ensure minimal downtime for production and maximal safety of employees.
- Performs root cause analysis as well as implemented sustainable countermeasures on losses related to maintenance.
- Must prioritize work orders and work schedules to ensure the best utilization of man-hours and supplies.
- Ensure that equipment operates within the specifications and tolerances established by the equipment vendor/manufacturer
- Ensure Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders are accomplished in a timely manner and are to a high standard of quality.
- Lead 5S activities in the department to improve efficiency, functionality, cleanliness, and safety.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Write purchase requisitions for supplies and parts needed to maintain the production line and warehouse production.
- Have the ability to operate powered equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, scissor lifts, and skid steers.
- Report all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental, and Property/Equipment Damage.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly.
- Effectively interface with third party vendors to complete larger projects.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Responsible for being on-call in the event of an emergency.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- ERP experience a plus, specifically with Microsoft and Google suite of systems.
- Capability of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints.
- Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.
- Ability to build effective working relationships, persuade, and influence others.
- Results driven, utilize knowledge to meet or exceed KPIs and goals.
- Proven time management skills and quickly adapts to a changing business environment.
- Able to prioritize responsibilities with the appropriate level of urgency, able to listen and can use this information to solve problems, anticipate issues and make correct decisions based on a variety of situations.
- Superior communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal skills; able to listen effectively to solve problems, anticipate issues and make effective decisions as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 3+ years of related experience.
- Extensive experience and a desire to learn, grow and be part of a successful team REQUIRED!
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to drive a forklift, scissor lift, order pickers, and/or pallet jack as required.
- Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
