The Boeing CompanyThe 787 Monuments Team within Boeing Commercial Aircraft Payloads Organization is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our team in Everett, WA.
The Payloads Organization is responsible for everything you see when you fly; and much of which you don’t. The Interiors of the airplane, along with the cargo compartments, exterior markings, associated systems, and cabin safety all make up Payloads. We are how our airline customers fulfill their mission and represent their brand and shape how the public experiences flight. Our organization is a fast paced, dynamic environment, which pulls from many engineering backgrounds.
Monument Engineers are responsible for managing the integration of multiple supplier designed products into our Boeing aircrafts by overseeing the galleys, lavatories, and other equipment designs to ensure all customer, regulatory, and Boeing requirements are met.
This position requires the ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders, communicate with executive leadership and customers located around the world, and lead/influence technical teams to coordinate work and resolve emergent issues. Stakeholder include but not limited to suppliers, customers, sales, supplier management, engineering teams, regulatory administrators, and manufacturing teams. The selected candidate will have a statement of work that spans the product lifecycle: supporting customer configuration development, supplier engagement, validating and verifying design requirements, integrating business needs, and supporting the product through the production and certification processes. Your work will include the need to interface with other members of project engineering, production engineering, program/product teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions. You will be able to combine the expertise and resources of the interiors organization to certify and deliver the best interiors products within the industry.
Significant amount of domestic and international travel is required, some on short notice.
Payloads is seeking candidates with experience in any of the following areas:
Engineering support and project leadership within a production system
Direct engagement working with/for aerospace suppliers or airlines
Validating/demonstrating compliance to regulatory requirements
Working with regulators
Design for manufacturing
Aircraft cargo compartment and handling system design, integration, and/or certification
Position Responsibilities:
Leads the development, integration and documentation of interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
Performs or oversees approval of analyses and test/inspection results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Leads teams on managing supplier performance, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
Leads the development of new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Lead teams to develop, maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component design, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering.
9+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, and/or certification or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
