About the role

Overview

LMI is seeking a Administrator/Operations Manager at our headquarters office in Tysons, VA.  The position is to support National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility (DEIA) Program Management Office (PMO). This position will be located at NASA Headquarters in Washington D.C., with teleworking for the foreseeable future. Candidates must be able to pass background checks and/or obtain a security clearance if needed.

Responsibilities

This role includes supporting the PMO program manager with managing the day-to-day activities of the NASA DEIA PMO. The administrator/operations manager is a professional with a proven track record of project execution across a large, networked organization with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrates critical thinking, builds relationships and upholds the highest standard of ethical behavior. 

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Work with PMO program manager to establish role as the project status POC for leadership team
  • Attend customer status meetings with program manager and be prepared to provide detailed status on all tasks
  • Leverage NASA technologies and platforms, such as the Office 365 suite of tools, to develop custom task tracker, risk register, standardized reports, master calendar of meetings, key project status reporting dates, key deliverables and deadlines, templates and any supporting business processes that support DEIA PMO, including status reporting, project progress tracking, accountability, transparency and timely follow through on project tasks
  • Work with program manager to create prioritization framework and techniques and establish business processes to support customer in prioritizing activities and initiatives  
  • Work with program manager to understand/and or develop customer approval and vetting processes in alignment with customer expectations
  • Establish project standards and ensure they are upheld and clearly defined throughout the duration of project planning, execution and completion
  • Work with program manager to define and establish communications processes to ensure appropriate messaging, outreach and engagement with leadership and key stakeholders in advance of outreach to DEIA PMO clients and external stakeholders
  • Maintain project status documentation
  • Develop status reports in advance of meetings with leaders
  • Train DEIA PMO team members, customers and other stakeholders on the various project management tools as required
  • Establish knowledge management and feedback mechanisms to support employee engagement, continuous learning and stronger project outcomes
  • Provide support to program manager and DEIA PMO team for implementation plan and timeline development
  • Develop project status presentations and other materials as required to support overall project understanding and progress.
  • Monitor and track team member progress against tasks assigned; proactively identify slippage and potential risks to project progress
  • Foster positive working relationships with team, client personnel and leadership counterparts
  • Prepare monthly reports and ensure such deliverables are submitted in a timely fashion and of high quality/accuracy
  • Utilize project management best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of work experience, or master’s degree with 1+ years of work experience.
  • Technology-forward mindset and ability to leverage a wide variety of technology tools to accomplish project management objectives
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven ability to create and complete complex, enterprise-wide projects according to planned scope and timeline
