Red Bull New York, Inc. (“RBNY”) and the related RBNY affiliates are looking for a detail-oriented. motivated individual with contract management experience and strong communication and interpersonal skills to join the New York Red Bulls legal team in Harrison, New Jersey. As the sole Contracts Manager / Paralegal for the organization, this individual will be responsible for the administration of a high volume of contracts, including supporting the contract management process with legal oversight as appropriate, including organizing and filing case files, scheduling and coordinating meetings, handling first-line matter intake, and assisting with drafting and research responsibilities, as required.
Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.
Job Description
LEGAL MATTER & DATABASE MANAGEMENT
- Create and maintain legal matters and template contracts in the department’s matter management database, and search for associated files.
- Redline, draft, proofread and format emails, memos and contracts and other legal documents. including sponsorship and suite license agreements, NDAs and vendor agreements.
- Maintain filing of corporate documents.
- Track matter statuses and keep all active matters organized and prioritized.
- Liaise with global Red Bull legal team on various legal operations issues (e.g., administration, matter management, communication, etc.).
- Act as initial point of contact for internal teams concerning legal aspects and interpretation of contracts, communicating legal turn-around times, and routing contracts through approval and signature.
- Review, consolidate, and summarize legal/court documents on an as-needed basis.
- Develop knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, and protocols relating to MLS and RBNY and draft periodic updates to contractual provisions to address regulatory / legal changes.
- Assist in document production and discovery for litigation and audit matters.
- Build productive relationships with internal business teams, external vendors, organizational partners, and the larger Red Bull organization.
EVENT & MEETING SCHEDULING, PLANNING & COORDINATION
- Assist with the planning of department level trainings.
- Manage and communicate General Counsel’s calendar and assist with time management and prioritization.
- Maintain department calendar and department to-do list; schedule and coordinate meetings, conferences, team activities, and other occasions; and, as requested, assist department attorneys with developing meeting agendas.
Qualifications
Five or more years’ experience as contracts administrator or paralegal handling a wide variety of agreements and legal disputes
Ability to understand contractual concepts and provisions and to identify and summarize key contractual obligations
Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously and to appropriately prioritize competing business needs
Familiarity with DocuSign, and other contract management and legal department management tools
Skilled and experienced Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Acrobat
Ability to create and edit all types of documents including letters, emails, presentations and contracts
Self-starter with the ability to complete assigned tasks without prompting, work efficiently with minimal supervision and manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
Extremely well organized with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities
Strong analytical/critical thinking skills
Patience, good judgment, unquestioned integrity and sound discretion
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues and external partners
Ability to keep sensitive Legal Department matters confidential
Familiarity with insurance and risk management concepts
Additional Information
Bachelor’s degree preferred
