Manufacturing

Join our team as a Machine Maintenance Technician.

This position is ONSITE based in North Carolina.

Shift will be Sunday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm.

Position Overview:

The Additive Manufacturing Maintenance Technician, with assistance, will perform maintenance of the production equipment according to maintenance schedules, work instructions established and direction from the Production Manager and/or Process Engineer.

You Will:

• Maintain machines to produce consistent parts of the highest quality
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair AM machines and supporting equipment
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance to minimize machine down time
• Assist in training others to carry out maintenance procedures
• Make improvements in reliability and functionality of machines
• Contribute regularly to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Design and execute experiments to determine the root cause of build failures
• Identify and escalate process issues to Senior AM Tech and Engineering
• Observe all Proto Labs Safety and Quality Procedures
• Follow all company safety policies established for working with lasers and machine maintenance
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to analyze data for problem resolution
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience as an SLA or DMLS Technician (internal)
• 1 year of experience as an SLS technician (internal)
• Previous mechanical, electrical, or other related experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous equipment maintenance experience
• 4-year degree with technical/Engineering focus is preferred (SL)
• 2-year degree with technical/Engineering focus preferred (DMLS/SLS)

Physical Demands:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. However, there may be job duties that require the employee to spend time in the manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required.
