Position Summary
The successful execution of PG&E’s transmission strategy is needed to efficiently plan and deliver the system’s increasing transmission needs over the next decade. This position would manage the day-to-day development and execution of the cross-functional pillars that underpin the transmission strategy, which bring together teams from across PG&E. Work categories may include development and evaluation of partnerships to support transmission financing and execution, incorporation of new technologies into PG&E’s transmission planning, coordination with integrated grid planning to deliver prioritized project lists for execution, identification of efficiencies in planning and execution processes to reduce cost and time for project in service dates, and support in development of regulatory initiatives to support the goals of the transmission strategy. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Acting as the day-to-day manager of all transmission pillar activities while actively coordinating with the responsible SMEs from the various departments
- Originating and developing partnerships for transmission financing and project delivery
- Coordinating the handoff of key deliverables from transmission strategy to project delivery to ensure successful execution of priority projects
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Reporting Relationship
The Director, Transmission Portfolio Strategy will report to the Senior Director, Electric Engineering Strategy.
Job Responsibilities
- Represents the Company in challenging and high impact industry, regulatory, legislative, and stakeholder forums
- Engages cross-functionally across lines of business to identify strategy development and implementation needs.
- Develops relationships with potential financial and delivery partners
- Leading cross-functional teams to evaluate potential partners and negotiate potential partnerships
- Partners with senior leadership in the identification and development of future leaders. Supports goal development, work resource management, and ensures adequate training, tools, and technologies are in place.
- Facilitates and oversees the implementation of the Company’s strategic planning rhythm.
- Develop plans for new initiatives and develop strategic framework, metrics, and tactics for success.
- Partners with key cross-functionally senior leadership, to gather and process information.
- Incorporates market, industry, technology and policy trends into strategic planning and updates of the True North Strategy.
