JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Laboratory of Dr. Misha Kwasniewski in the College of Agricultural Sciences, Department of Food Science at Penn State (University Park campus) is seeking a temporary, part-time research assistant/associate to support ongoing lab and field research projects related to fermentation sciences, wine chemistry and grape development.
Duties will include:
- Assist with sample preparation and extraction.
- Operate Lab equipment such as a spectrophotometer, HPLC and GC-MS
- Enter data using Excel or other programs.
- Work with graduate students and other lab members on ongoing projects as needed.
Skills:
- Basic familiarity with chemistry and lab practices
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Aptitude and interest in learning new methodology
This job requires some progress toward a B.S. in a STEM related field such as food science or Chemistry.
