Production Manager (Shared Services Area)

Ensuring Chart’s Success…

The Production Managers at Chart's Minnesota facility work both tactically and strategically to ensure the safety of all team members while producing World Class Quality cryogenic pressure vessels.  The candidate must be performance driven with a demonstrated history of hands-on leadership and continuous improvement. This position will have responsibilities for both Day and Night Shift; Monday through Friday and generally work during day shift hours as well as covering shift change over.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

• Ensures the safety of all team members, contractors, vendors, and guests
• Supervises and coordinates the activities of the workers and supervisors in department of responsibility
• Overall responsibility for producing quality products on-time
• Communicates with other departments and shifts in coordinating raw materials, parts, assemblies, completed units, and personnel
• Continually evaluates workflow and processes to identify opportunities for improvements
• Strategically prepares and executes plans for improving quality, efficiency, and productivity
• Appraises employee performance and proposes merit increases
• Sets the strategy to drive motivation and improvements
• Promotes the engagement of all employees in identifying and implementing improvement projects
• Inspires change in others, and creates a culture of inclusion and collaboration
• Works with Engineering on critical component reliability and related product specifications to achieve strategic goals
• Uses metrics to track team’s performance and validate improvements
• Balances and adjusts manpower between workstations to achieve smooth flow
• Mentors and grows employees
• Will lead/facilitate issue resolution

Your Education Should Be…

• BS Degree preferred

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

• This position will require the ability to regularly move around the production floor and investigate issues with the production equipment.
• Exposure to metal cutting, welding odors, welding flash and incidental acceptable limits of x-ray radiation.
• Possible exposure to chemical odors and temperature extremes.
• Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and occasional crawling.
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. and occasionally heavier (50-60 lbs.) with assistance

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

• Minimum of 3 years of Management / Leadership experience
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience in a medium volume manufacturing environment, ETO experience preferred
• Lean Six Sigma
• Proven results in improving manufacturing performance across multiple processes and with multiple internal groups
• Proven experience training others in manufacturing concepts and activities
