Intern for Master Thesis (x|f|m) in Product Development - On-site

For the Product Development Cell Line, Media and Testing Solutions Department, we are looking for an intern Master thesis (x|f|m) starting in June 2025 for at least 9 months. The intern will be based on site the location Ulm (Sartorius Stedim Cellca). In this role you would contribute to further develop and improve our cell line development platform for the production of biopharmaceuticals.

The project focuses on the application of genetic engineering techniques to generate novel designer CHO cells for the production of biopharmaceuticals. 

The project includes the following methods: 

• Standard molecular biology techniques (e.g. cloning, PCR, ddPCR) 

• State-of-the-art genome engineering technologies (CRISPR gene-editing)

• Transfection and cell culture technologies for the generation of stable production cell lines

• Cell sorting using flow cytometry (FACS)

• Small-scale bioprocesses in fed-batch format 

• Protein analytics (product titer, glycosylation profile) 

Your qualifications 

• Course of Master study in biology, biochemistry,  biotechnology or similar disciplines 

• Basic experience in lab work (CHO cell culture is of advantage)

• Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques.

• High motivation and the ability to work independently 

• Structured way of working as well as solution-oriented way of thinking
