The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking applicants for a Full Time Security Guard. This position is Monday-Friday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. (including holidays). The selected candidate will staff the Visitor Center, issue badges, respond to alarms and emergencies, maintain the security of the SDL campus, and monitor CCTV systems.
The Space Dynamics Laboratory, a University Affiliated Research Center, has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for almost six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet and assist visitors
- Process visitors and issue security badges
- Update visit logs daily, scan and attach check-in form to the visit log
- Answer phones
- Monitor CCTV systems
- Issue parking permits
- Ensure security protocol is followed
- Conduct security patrols on foot
- Respond to alarms and emergencies
- Provide assistance as needed during emergency response
- U.S. citizenship
- Active security clearance
- Live within local commuting distance to North Logan, Utah
- Experience programming and issuing security badges
- Experience operating CCTV systems
- Punctuality and reliability
- Ability to handle and protect sensitive information
- Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with a wide range of internal and external customers
- Professional, friendly demeanor
- Computer experience, Microsoft Office software, and various office equipment
- Excellent verbal, written, and professional communication skills
- Ability to work independently, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Exceptional observation and decision-making skills
- Organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to prioritize assignments
- Ability to walk long distances in the dark, in adverse weather conditions, and climbing stairs
- Ability to work extended hours, covering other shifts during the week as needed
- Working knowledge of S2 access control software
- Working knowledge of Milestone Software
