TRISTAR is seeking a Technical Writer for our up coming government customer in Bloomington, IN


Job Description:

  • Provide direct support by preparing, reviewing, editing, and maintaining program technical documents, standard operation procedures (SOPs), policies, work instructions, Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and internal team messaging

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive documentation plans and timelines for creating and updating SOPs, policies, and other technical documentation
  • Write clear, concise, and accurate documentation that adheres to industry standards and best practices, ensuring consistency across all deliverables
  • Organize and structure documentation in a logical and user-friendly manner, making complex technical concepts accessible to non-technical audiences
  • Review and edit existing documentation to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with client requirements and project objectives
  • Work closely with customer and IT specialist to gather feedback and incorporate changes into documentation as needed
  • Develop templates, style guides, and other resources to streamline the documentation process and maintain consistency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and documentation enhancement.

Position Requirements:

  • 5 years experience writing technical documentation
  • Knowledge and experience in technical writing, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accessible documentation
  • Experience in developing and documenting IT policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs
  • Proficient in conducting research and gathering information from various sources
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather relevant data and insights for documentation purposes
  • Ability to manage documentation projects from inception to completion
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of developing documentation plans, timelines, and deliverables to support project objectives
  • Experience in reviewing and editing documentation for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with standards and guidelines
  • MUST be a US Citizen
  • Must possess active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Computer Science, or related discipline
