Role Description
Form Energy is designing our next-generation high volume anode manufacturing lines. To make this vision a reality, we need world-class manufacturing engineers who thrive on tackling complex challenges and bringing cutting-edge production technologies to life.
Reporting to the Manager of Anode Manufacturing Development, you will identify, specify, and aid in the design and procurement of advanced high-volume manufacturing equipment in partnership with our equipment engineering, product design, factory design, and operations teams as well as external partners and vendors.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and deploying next-generation high-volume manufacturing lines from the ground up. This role will be located at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, which is just a short drive outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is available.
What you'll do:
Conceptualize, model, and build specifications for Form’s next-generation high volume manufacturing lines
Influence Form Energy’s next-generation product design by providing DFM assessments to product design & R&D teams
Develop, de-risk, and validate new production methods utilizing existing pilot and production lines
Support the design and landing of the powder processing system for the anode line from initial specification through commissioning in partnership with internal equipment engineers and external OEMs and integrators
Collaborate with the factory and industrial engineering teams to optimize factory layout and material flow
Coordinate with customer teams such as Process Engineering, Quality, and Operations to ensure that we are building systems that meet Form Energy’s standards
Train engineers and equipment operators on newly landed equipment
What you'll bring:
Demonstrated experience in manufacturing process design, equipment procurement, and/or equipment commissioning
Experience working with external vendors and partners to specify, design, and deliver high quality manufacturing solutions
A collaborative, cross functional approach to solving difficult problems and balancing conflicting priorities
Experience with high throughput bulk material unloading, feeding, dosing, and blending equipment is highly desirable but not required
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field with 3+ years experience in a pilot line or manufacturing environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
