Capability Unit 

Metrea Strategic Mobility (MSM) operates a fleet of KC-135 aircraft, offering an air-to-air refueling service that seamlessly, safely, and professionally integrates into military aviation training and operations. 

 

Position Summary 

The primary purpose of this position, Production Controller, is to perform a variety of production planning, scheduling, and material technician tasks, in direct support of maintenance programs and operations. These operations include the repair, overhaul, manufacture, and/or modification of various systems.

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Research, analyze, plan, and initiate job acceptance for programmed/unprogrammed workloads.
  • Manage shop capacity and calculate and establish shop hours based on workload mixture in systems to control input to maintenance.
  • Responsible for advising, planning, and coordinating aircraft maintenance requirements and utilization scheduling between maintenance, operations, and external organizations.
  • Monitor multiple shop operations, plan, and manage actual production start dates, manage assets in work, and monitor assets in-queue in support of the Maintenance Director.
  • Provide material management support to production operations by ordering parts and materials.
  • Identify developments in the field of production so that the department can benefit from the latest improvements available.
  • Plan schedules for projects in alignment with production activity by liaising with the wider media production team and forecasting any budget or resource requirements in advance.
  • Work professionally with production management to deliver and ensure buy-in to the company’s strategic priorities.
  • Take responsibility for raising issues on printing costs and use a range of systems to monitor and track costs and schedules.
  • Researches and determines cause for missed maintenance-related scheduled events and documents findings as required.
  • Implements maintenance plans through the development and publication of maintenance schedules to include scheduled and unscheduled repair actions, time-sensitive inspections or modifications, component-time change replacement, and aircraft or system inspections.
  • Reviews immediate and long-range requirements based on current workload forecasts and conditioned-based maintenance and develops plans to obtain resources to meet production requirements. Plans allocation of resources and distribution of work to ensure production commitments are accomplished as scheduled.
  • All other duties assigned.

Skills and Experience 

Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

Experience: 

  • 2+ years of working experience with a general knowledge of the functions and procedures of production control, records, references, and techniques for developing production control data. Knowledge of KC-135 maintenance procedures, supply, production control, or data entry.  

Skills: 

  • Proven and demonstrable attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, determining causes of errors and deciding on the course of action to solve.
  • Comprehensive understanding of company philosophy and processes.
  • Must be able to take initiative and work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to read and understand the information presented in writing, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance.

Computer Skills: 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products (specifically Word and Excel) 

Certificates and Licenses: 

  • Valid Driver’s License.
